WE are Country Music Dads.

Dave and Donnie met on the internet while bonding over their shared inability to survive a country music festival as aging dads. Since then, they’ve connected in-person in Los Angeles and they still like each other thanks to several shared truths: country music is great, parenting is hard, and life is better if they talk about it.

Dave is the stay-at-home dad for three boys seven-and-under, a highly-effective tee-ball coach, and a late-blooming country music aficionado. He blasts country music in his minivan and does a little writing from the urban frontier of Los Angeles, where he and his wife were both born and raised.

Donnie C. Cutler is an independent country music journalist, a reluctant “Influencer,” and the dad of two high-speed boys. He works a traditional day job, cooking most of the meals, coaching most of the sports and folding what seems like too many individual socks. He’s been known to hit the hot spots around town with his lovely wife and enjoys two-stepping to hot shit country bands. 

Together, we provide country music analysis from the unique perspective of two dads in the trenches of modern parenting.

Although Mick stepped aside from the podcast in 2025, we will always be grateful for his leadership, vision, and friendship as we built this thing together back in 2024.
